Quinta da Viçosa is one of the largest vineyards in the Group, with a total of 36 ha, and is located near Estremoz. In this vineyard, now organic, winemaker João Portugal Ramos decided to plant different varieties, national and foreign, so that, each year, he could observe the different behaviors of each plot. Since 2001, in years that he considers extraordinary, he has launched this blend of two grape varieties onto the market, always one native and one international, seeking to offer a different, structured and at the same time elegant wine, a pure result of the land that gives it origin.
VINIFIKACE
The grapes are destemmed and carefully selected in a sorting table, followed by foot treading in marble lagares. The fermentation ends in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. Aged on half new French and Hungarian oak barrels over a period of 12 months
PÁROVÁNÍ S JÍDLEM
Very concentrated wine with a violet color. Balsamic notes coming from Alicante Bouschet, combined with notes of wild fruits characteristic of the Merlot variety. Long and distinct finish.

João Portugal Ramos začínal ve vinařském světě v 80. letech jako enolog a pomáhal zmodernizovat a zkvalitnit výrobu v těch nejznámějších vinařských domech té doby. V 90. letech se pak rozhodl nabyté zkušenosti zužitkovat a založit své vlastní vinařství. První domov našlo ve vesnici Estremoz v regionu Alentejo, dnes ale působí i v dalších třech vinařských oblastech, v Douru, Beiře a Vinho Verde. Vinařství João Portugal Ramos je známé produkcí terroirových vín – vín, která odráží povahu místa, ze kterého se rodí. Postaráno je i o budoucnost – jednomu z nejslavnějších portugalských vinařů dnes stojí po boku dvě z jeho pěti dětí – João Maria na vinici a Filipa v marketingovém oddělení.
